Medical laser hair removal
for smoother, easier-to-maintain skin
What is medical hair removal?
Medical hair removal uses medical-grade laser devices that may only be operated by licensed medical institutions. The laser targets the melanin pigment in the hair root and is widely used as a treatment aimed at long-term hair reduction by acting on the structures that grow hair.
At our clinic we use a thermal-storage (Super Hair Removal-style) medical laser designed to deliver gentle, careful irradiation. We treat a wide range of areas including the face, full body, VIO, and nape, and welcome both female and male patients.
*Medical hair removal is a self-pay (non-insured) treatment. All listed prices are tax-included.

FEATURE
Thermal-storage (heat-build-up) laser
Our clinic uses a thermal-storage type laser hair removal device that gradually warms the skin. Compared to conventional thermal-destruction (high-fluence) lasers, this method is generally considered less painful and may also act on fine vellus hair. We aim for a treatment course that is gentler on the skin and easier to continue.
Treatment under physician supervision
At your first visit we conduct a consultation and physician examination, reviewing your skin condition, hair characteristics, medical history, and allergies before proposing a treatment plan. Any issues during or after treatment are handled under physician supervision, so patients with sensitive skin are also welcome to consult us.
A wide range of plans
In addition to our main “Full Body,” “Full Body + VIO,” and “Full Body + Face + VIO” plans, our “FBC Free Select Plan” lets you mix and match the areas of your choice. We can accommodate needs ranging from “just one specific area” to “starting with a single trial area.”
Men’s hair removal welcome
We treat male-specific concerns including beard hair removal, men’s body hair removal, and full-body hair removal. We welcome male patients who want to be free from daily shaving or who want to maintain a clean, well-groomed appearance. Separate booking slots are available for men and women, so please feel free to consult us.
Missed-spot guarantee
If a missed spot is identified within two weeks of treatment, we will re-treat it free of charge (subject to assessment). To address concerns about possible missed spots, we offer support that helps patients continue their treatment course with peace of mind.
Hair growth cycle and recommended intervals
Medical hair removal is performed in line with the hair growth cycle. The cycle consists of anagen (growth) → catagen (regression) → telogen (resting) phases, and the laser only acts on hairs in the anagen phase. Because each session affects only about 20% of hairs in the treatment area, multiple sessions are needed for results.
| Session | Body (excluding face) | Face |
|---|---|---|
| 1st–3rd | 2 months or longer | 1 month or longer |
| 3rd–4th | 3–4 months or longer | 1 month or longer |
| 5th and beyond | 6 months or longer | 2 months or longer |
Treating before hair has fully regrown can stimulate the hair and may have the opposite effect, so spacing sessions appropriately is important for efficient hair reduction.
Important notes (risks, side effects, downtime)
| Treatment time | Varies by area (VIO approx. 30 min, full body approx. 60–90 min, etc.) |
|---|---|
| Anesthesia | The thermal-storage method is designed to minimize pain, but topical numbing cream is available for those sensitive to pain. |
| Downtime | Redness, itching, and dryness may persist for a few days after treatment. These typically become inconspicuous within 2–3 days, but vary by skin condition and irradiation energy. |
| Makeup | Makeup is allowed on the same day for areas other than the face. For the face, makeup from the next day is recommended provided the skin feels comfortable. |
| Bathing & exercise | Showering only on treatment day. Bathing, sauna, hot yoga, hot springs, vigorous exercise, and alcohol should wait until the next day. |
| Sun protection | Sun exposure before and after treatment increases the risk of burns and pigmentation. Practice strict UV protection throughout your course and avoid outdoor activities like swimming, skiing, and golf. |
| Main risks & side effects | Redness, itching, dryness, stinging, folliculitis, pigmentation, hypopigmentation, hypertrophic scarring, paradoxical hair growth (very rare), burns, darkening of pigmented spots and moles, missed spots, etc. Treatment is not available for those with a history of herpes, autoimmune disease, diabetes, heart disease, collagen disease, or those taking steroids. |
| Recommended sessions | 5–10 sessions is typical. Results vary by hair type, area, and skin condition. |
| Those who cannot receive treatment | Pregnant or breastfeeding women, sun-tanned skin, those with herpes, eczema, or infections, those with heart disease, diabetes, collagen disease, or autoimmune disorders, those taking steroids, those undergoing Golden Lift treatment, those on anticoagulants, those with photosensitivity, minors without guardian consent, etc. |
| Areas that cannot be treated | Mucous membranes, penis, scrotum, nipple, and eyelids cannot be treated. Moles, scars, etc. will be avoided during treatment. |
*The above is the typical course; pain, downtime, and effects vary by individual.
*Treatment cannot be performed on areas where hair was tweezed within the past 2 weeks.
*Please disclose any medical history, current medications, or allergies during consultation.
*Do not apply antiperspirant, body cream, etc. to the treatment area on the day of your visit.
*Please self-shave the treatment area the day before your appointment (the morning of the appointment for men’s beard).

FLOW — Treatment process
We listen to your treatment area preferences and concerns, and the physician examines your skin and hair characteristics. After reviewing allergies, medical history, current medications, and recent sun exposure, we determine suitability and propose a plan.

We check the treatment area you self-shaved the day before (or the morning of, for men’s beard). We also check your skin condition and any facial makeup before treatment.
Treatment is performed with our thermal-storage medical laser. We carefully adjust output to your skin condition and check in with you throughout the session.

After treatment we cool the area as needed and apply a moisturizing cream. We explain aftercare precautions (sun protection, moisturizing, exercise restrictions, etc.) and discuss your next appointment with appropriate spacing.

About medical hair removal
Medical hair removal uses medical laser hair removal devices that may only be operated by licensed medical institutions. Unlike intense pulsed light (IPL) treatments at salons, medical lasers deliver sufficient energy to act on the hair root and are used as a treatment aimed at long-term hair reduction.
Our clinic uses a thermal-storage type medical laser device. Rather than targeting melanin pigment alone, the thermal-storage approach gradually warms the entire hair follicle, making it more compatible with vellus hair, darker skin tones, and tanned skin. Because it is designed to reduce pain, we welcome consultations from those concerned about pain or considering treatment of delicate areas like the face or VIO.
The key to medical hair removal is “continuing in line with the hair cycle.” Because only hairs in the anagen (growth) phase respond to each session, hair is reduced by about 20% at a time. Many patients notice a reduction in the frequency of self-shaving after 5–10 sessions, but results vary by individual based on hair quantity and quality.
There are also important precautions. Paradoxical hair growth—a rare phenomenon in which hair in the treated area appears to become thicker or more numerous than before—has been reported. This is more common on the back, nape, and around men’s beard areas, and the cause is not fully understood. We work to minimize the risk through output adjustments and irradiation technique, and we provide follow-up care if it occurs.
In addition, sun protection before and after treatment is important to prevent burns and pigmentation. Strict UV protection is required throughout the course (especially in summer). Treatment may be declined for tanned skin; please understand.
If you are interested, please feel free to start with a consultation and physician examination. We will propose a plan tailored to your skin condition, hair type, and preferences.
Together Menu — Recommended combinations
Here are treatments that pair well with medical hair removal. We recommend combining inside-out and outside-in care to enhance the smoothness of post-treatment skin.
Q&A (Frequently Asked Questions)
- How many sessions until I notice results?
-
Results vary by individual, but many patients notice a reduction in self-shaving frequency after 3–5 sessions. A typical course is 5–10 sessions, with thicker-haired areas (VIO, beard, etc.) tending to require more. Please discuss your continuing plan with your physician based on your skin’s response.
- How much does it hurt?
-
The thermal-storage method is designed with reduced pain compared to the thermal-destruction method. Many patients describe it as “a gentle, spreading warmth,” and it is easy for first-time patients to continue. Topical numbing cream is available for those sensitive to pain. Areas with thick hair (VIO, beard) tend to feel more sensation than other areas.
- What is the difference between salons and medical hair removal?
-
Medical hair removal uses medical laser devices that may only be operated by medical institutions, allowing the laser to act on the hair root and pursue long-term hair reduction. Salon IPL devices have lower output, so although self-shaving frequency may decrease, more sessions are typically required compared to medical treatment. At our clinic, treatment is performed under physician supervision, providing the medical-institution support that includes care for any skin issues.
- What is paradoxical hair growth?
-
This is a rare phenomenon after laser hair removal in which hair in the treated area appears thicker or more numerous than before. It tends to occur on the back, nape, and around men’s beard areas, and the cause is not fully understood. If it occurs, we adjust the output, treatment intervals, and irradiation method, so please consult us.
- Can I receive treatment if I’m tanned?
-
If you have a strong tan, we may decline treatment because the risk of burns and pigmentation increases. Treatment is postponed until the skin tone returns to normal. Strict UV protection is required throughout the course. Patients with frequent outdoor activities like swimming, golf, or skiing may need scheduling adjustments, so please discuss during consultation.
- Isn’t VIO hair removal embarrassing?
-
Our clinic provides a privacy-conscious environment with female staff and physicians. We use towel coverage and check in with you during treatment, so please consult us. VIO hair removal has become increasingly popular in recent years for hygiene and reducing menstrual discomfort.
- Can men receive treatment?
-
Yes, we welcome male patients. We offer plans for men including beard hair removal, men’s full-body hair removal, and area-specific options. Male patients seeking freedom from daily shaving or a cleaner appearance use our service. Separate booking slots are available for men and women, so please feel free to consult us.
- Can minors receive treatment?
-
Minors require a guardian’s written consent. The physician also assesses whether the patient’s age and hair type are suitable. For young patients still in development, hair may regrow with maturation even after treatment, so more sessions may be needed. Please discuss in advance during consultation and physician examination.
- Can I receive treatment while pregnant or breastfeeding?
-
Because safety has not been established, we ask pregnant and breastfeeding patients to refrain from treatment. Please consult us about timing for resuming treatment after delivery and weaning. We will also explain how we handle pregnancy during a course contract during consultation.
- Is it hard to get an appointment?
-
Because a single laser device serves many patients, appointments may be hard to obtain during busy periods. Please book early. If you must change or cancel, please contact us by 23:00 two days before (changes after this time incur an administrative fee of 3,000 yen).
- Can the clinic do the shaving for me?
-
Please self-shave the treatment area the day before (the morning of, for men’s beard). If we need to shave for you, the fee is 500 yen per area. If significant unshaved hair remains, we may need to limit the area or decline part of the treatment, so please shave thoroughly.
- What happens if a spot was missed?
-
If a missed spot is identified within two weeks of treatment, we will re-treat it free of charge (subject to assessment). Please check from day 5 onward (the day after, for men’s beard). Re-treatment after the 2-week window is 1,000 yen per shot, so please book promptly. The Golden Week, Obon, and year-end holiday periods are excluded from this guarantee.

Men’s medical hair removal also available
We treat a wide range of male hair removal needs, including beard and body hair. Our thermal-storage medical laser allows treatment with attention to pain. For details, please see men’s pricing plans.
