Refining skin texture from within
Water-light injection (Rejuran / Juvelook / VITARAN)
What is water-light injection?
Water-light injection (mizuhikari chusha) is a general term for injectable therapies that deliver fine doses of active ingredients into the superficial layers of the skin, designed to support hydration, firmness, and texture from within. The name evokes the image of skin “wrapped in light, with water-like clarity.”
At our clinic we offer a total of four water-light injection products: Rejuran i, Rejuran Healer, VITARAN, and Juvelook. An experienced physician will recommend the option that best matches your concerns and goals.
*All water-light injection products used at our clinic are not approved in Japan; they are obtained via personal-import by the physician. For details, please see the “Self-pay treatment / drug information” section at the bottom of this page.

FEATURE — What sets our water-light injection apart
Four product options available
We offer four products: Rejuran i, Rejuran Healer, VITARAN, and Juvelook. Recommendations are tailored to your concerns, treatment area, and goals.
Manual injection by a physician
Rather than using an automatic injection device, an experienced physician performs each injection by hand, adjusting the area, depth, and volume to suit your skin condition.
Consultation and physician examination
After a consultation and physician examination, we review your skin condition, allergy history, and medical history before discussing the product that fits your goals.
Combinations and stacking options
Products with different mechanisms can be combined on the same day or scheduled across separate visits. We can also discuss combining water-light injection with Dermapen, hyaluronic acid filler, and other treatments.
Convenient location: about 4 min walk from Yabacho Station
VIVIAGE ZONNE CLINIC is about a 4-minute walk from Yabacho Station. Because water-light injection is most effective when repeated, our location makes it easy to drop in after work or during a shopping trip.
PRODUCTS — Four water-light injection products
We carry four water-light injection products that differ in active-ingredient family. Recommendations are based on your concerns and treatment area.
| Product | Main ingredient | Characteristics | Main concerns |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rejuran i | Salmon-derived polynucleotide (PN) | For delicate areas such as around the eyes | Fine lines around the eyes, dryness, concerns concealer cannot cover |
| Rejuran Healer | Salmon-derived polynucleotide (PN) | For full-face skin-quality care | Firmness and elasticity care for the cheeks, forehead, mouth area, and full face |
| VITARAN | Polynucleotide + hyaluronic acid | For those who also want a sense of volume | Combined care, those prioritizing hydration |
| Juvelook | PDLLA (polylactic acid) + hyaluronic acid | Designed to support collagen production | Pores, acne scars, firmness care |
*All of the above are unapproved medications in Japan. For details, please see the “Self-pay treatment / drug information” section at the bottom of this page.
COMPARISON — Rejuran vs. Juvelook
“Rejuran” and “Juvelook” are the two water-light products we are most often asked about. Because their active ingredients and mechanisms differ, we choose between them based on your concerns.
| Rejuran | Juvelook | |
|---|---|---|
| Main ingredient | Salmon-derived polynucleotide (PN) | PDLLA (polylactic acid) + hyaluronic acid |
| Approach | Designed to support the skin’s self-renewal | Designed to support collagen production and hydration |
| Main indications | Fine lines and dryness around the eyes Overall firmness and elasticity | Pores, acne scars Firmness and texture |
| Treatment areas | Eye area, full face, neck, back of hands | Cheeks, full face (central area) |
| Downtime | Redness, swelling, bruising Often subsides within 1–3 days | Redness, swelling, a sense of nodularity Often settles within 1–2 weeks |
| Recommended frequency | 3–5 sessions, every 3–4 weeks | 3 sessions, every 3–4 weeks |
| Cautions | Caution with salmon / seafood allergy | Some areas are more prone to nodularity |
| Best suited for | Those whose concerns center on the eye area Those wanting to support the skin’s self-renewal | Those whose concerns center on pores or acne scars Those wanting both firmness and hydration care |
“What happens if I combine the two?” is another common question. Because Rejuran and Juvelook work through different mechanisms, combining them or scheduling them across separate sessions is also possible. Please discuss the best combination for your concerns at consultation.
HOW TO CHOOSE — Product selection guide
Fine lines and dryness around the eyes
→ Consider Rejuran i. Designed for delicate areas such as around the eyes, it is often selected for concerns that concealer cannot fully cover.
Open pores or acne scars
→ Consider Juvelook. Its PDLLA component is designed to support collagen production and is frequently chosen for pore and acne-scar care.
Full-face firmness and elasticity care
→ Rejuran Healer or Juvelook. Your physician will recommend the right option based on your skin condition. Combining the two also allows for a broader approach.
Looking for both hydration and firmness
→ Consider VITARAN. A product combining polynucleotide with hyaluronic acid, often selected by those interested in a multi-faceted approach.
If you have a salmon allergy
→ Consider Juvelook. Rejuran and VITARAN contain salmon-derived ingredients, so they are not suitable for those with salmon or seafood allergies.
Important notes (risks, side effects, downtime)
| Treatment time | About 30–45 minutes (including waiting time for anesthesia) |
|---|---|
| Anesthesia | Topical anesthetic cream is used to help reduce pain. You may feel a slight pricking sensation during injection. |
| Downtime | Varies by product and area. Redness, swelling, and bruising may occur after injection; these typically subside within 1–3 days. With Juvelook, a sense of nodularity may persist for about 1–2 weeks. |
| Makeup | Possible from the next day. Please avoid rubbing the treated area firmly. |
| Notes | Showering is OK from the same day; bathing, sauna, and vigorous exercise should wait until the next day or later. Keeping alcohol intake and salt consumption moderate for one week after treatment may help limit swelling and bruising. |
| Side effects | Redness, swelling, bruising, pain, nodules, needle marks, infection, allergic reactions, asymmetry, and uneven results at the injection site, etc. Because Rejuran and VITARAN contain salmon-derived ingredients, those with salmon or seafood allergies may face an elevated risk. |
| Recommended sessions | 3–5 sessions at 3–4 week intervals are generally recommended. The recommended number varies by product. |
| Not suitable for | Those who are pregnant or breastfeeding; those with allergies to ingredients in each product (especially salmon / seafood allergy for Rejuran and VITARAN); those with infection or inflammation at the injection site; those with keloid-prone skin; those with autoimmune disease; those taking anticoagulants; minors; and others. |
*The above describes a typical course; pain, downtime, and results vary by individual.
*Please inform us at consultation of any medical history, current medications, or allergies.
*Those with salmon or seafood allergies cannot receive Rejuran or VITARAN.
FLOW — Treatment process
We listen to your skin concerns and the physician examines your skin. After confirming your allergy and medical history, we recommend the most suitable option from the four products. Stacking and combinations can also be discussed.

After cleansing the treatment area, we apply topical anesthetic cream. Please allow 20–30 minutes for the anesthesia to take effect.
An experienced physician carefully injects the product using ultra-fine needles, checking in with you throughout to monitor your comfort.

After injection, the area is cooled with an ice pack to help limit swelling. We then explain aftercare and discuss the timing of your next session.
Doctor’s note
About water-light injection
“Water-light injection” is a general term for injectable therapies that deliver fine doses of active ingredients into the superficial layers of the skin, designed to support hydration, firmness, and texture from within. The category developed largely in Korea, and the name evokes skin “wrapped in light, with water-like clarity.”
At our clinic we offer four products with different active-ingredient families. Rejuran i, Rejuran Healer, and VITARAN are based on salmon-derived polynucleotide (PN) and are designed to support the skin’s self-renewal. Juvelook contains PDLLA (polylactic acid) and is designed to support both collagen production and hydration.
What matters is choosing the right product for your concern. Rejuran i for fine lines around the eyes; Juvelook for pores and acne scars; combinations or VITARAN if you want both — the right choice changes with the concern. At consultation we listen to each patient’s skin condition and goals, then suggest the right combination from the four options.
Water-light injection is not a treatment for sudden, dramatic change. It is designed to refine overall skin texture through 3–5 sessions at 3–4 week intervals. Patients who want “to refine the skin itself with an approach different from hyaluronic acid” often find it a good fit.
All water-light injection products at our clinic are unapproved in Japan. Please consider treatment after fully understanding the risks and benefits. Those with salmon or seafood allergies cannot receive Rejuran or VITARAN, so please let us know at consultation. If you are interested, please feel free to start with a consultation.

Together Menu — Recommended pairings
Combining water-light injection with Dermapen, oral beauty medication, or beauty IV drips supports comprehensive inside-out skin care. For deeper wrinkles or structural volume loss, hyaluronic acid filler can also be considered alongside.
Q&A (Frequently asked questions)
- What is water-light injection?
-
Water-light injection is a general term for injectable therapies that deliver fine doses of active ingredients into the superficial layers of the skin. The name evokes skin “wrapped in light, with water-like clarity,” and the treatment is designed to support hydration, firmness, and texture from within. At our clinic we offer four products: Rejuran, Juvelook, and VITARAN.
- Which is better for me — Rejuran or Juvelook?
-
It depends on your concern. Those bothered by fine lines or dryness around the eyes often choose Rejuran i; those bothered by pores or acne scars often choose Juvelook. For full-face firmness and elasticity, we recommend either Rejuran Healer or Juvelook based on your skin condition. Please discuss it at consultation.
- How is it different from hyaluronic acid?
-
Hyaluronic acid is a “volume-restoring” treatment used to fill in deeper wrinkles and depressions. Water-light injection is a “skin-texture” treatment designed to support the skin’s self-renewal and collagen production. Hyaluronic acid is often selected for deeper wrinkles, water-light injection for skin-quality care.
- Can Rejuran and Juvelook be combined?
-
Yes, combinations are possible. Because the two products work through different mechanisms, combining them may broaden the approach. Same-day combinations or scheduling across separate visits are both options. Please contact us based on your concerns.
- How quickly are changes noticeable?
-
Results vary by individual. Because water-light injection is designed to support the skin’s self-renewal, we recommend 3–5 sessions at 3–4 week intervals. Many patients begin to notice changes in overall skin texture as treatment continues.
- I have a salmon allergy. Can I receive treatment?
-
Rejuran and VITARAN contain salmon-derived ingredients, so they are not suitable for those with salmon or seafood allergies. Juvelook contains PDLLA (polylactic acid) and no salmon-derived components, so it can be considered. Please let us know about any allergy history at consultation.
- How long is the downtime?
-
It varies by product. With Rejuran, redness and swelling typically subside within 1–3 days. With Juvelook, a sense of nodularity may persist for about 1–2 weeks. Makeup is generally possible from the next day, and any needle marks can usually be covered naturally with concealer.
- Can it be combined with other treatments?
-
Same-day or close-date combinations with Botox, hyaluronic acid filler, Dermapen, and other treatments are all possible. Combining with Dermapen may offer a synergistic skin-quality approach. Please discuss it at consultation.
- Are male patients welcome?
-
Male patients are warmly welcomed. Water-light injection can also address concerns common among men (pores, acne scars, tired-looking eyes, etc.). Many of our male patients drop in after work.
- Can I receive treatment while pregnant or breastfeeding?
-
Because safety has not been established, we ask patients who are pregnant or breastfeeding to refrain from treatment.
- Where is the clinic, and what are the hours?
-
VIVIAGE ZONNE CLINIC is about a 4-minute walk from Yabacho Station (T.O Building 4F, 3-33-30 Sakae, Naka-ku, Nagoya, Aichi 460-0008, Japan). Hours are Mon, Tue, Wed, Fri, Sat 10:00–17:30 (closed Thu, Sun). Bookings are accepted by phone (+81-52-990-9616) or via LINE.
Why patients choose us

I’m not sure whether to choose Rejuran or Juvelook…

Our clinic carries four water-light injection products (Rejuran i, Rejuran Healer, VITARAN, and Juvelook), allowing for a wide range of recommendations based on your concerns and treatment area. Manual injection is performed by an experienced physician, with fine adjustments to suit your skin condition. Patients who want to “find the right product” or “explore stacking multiple products” are encouraged to start with a consultation and physician examination, where we will listen to your concerns and recommend a combination.
Self-pay treatment / drug information (details here)
■ Self-pay treatment
This treatment is self-pay and not covered by Japanese national health insurance. All listed prices are tax-included. For pricing details, please refer to the “Pricing” page or each product’s dedicated page.
■ Products used
Our clinic offers the following four water-light injection products:
(1) Rejuran i (PHARMARESEARCH / Korea): contains salmon-derived polynucleotide
(2) Rejuran Healer (PHARMARESEARCH / Korea): contains salmon-derived polynucleotide
(3) VITARAN (Korea): polynucleotide + hyaluronic acid
(4) Juvelook (VAIM Global Inc / Korea): PDLLA (polylactic acid) + hyaluronic acid
■ Domestic approval status and use abroad
None of these products are approved in Japan. They are obtained via personal-import by the physician. The Rejuran series, VITARAN, and Juvelook are approved by the Korean Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) and are used in Korea and many other countries. They have not received US FDA or European CE approval.
No equivalent approved drug exists in Japan for PN (polynucleotide) products. For PDLLA-based products like Juvelook, Sculptra®, whose main ingredient is poly-L-lactic acid, has received approval from Japan’s Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (though its formulation and indications differ).
When unapproved medications are used, they are not covered by Japan’s Pharmaceutical Side Effects Relief System. We are not aware of any reports of serious health harm from these products in other countries at this time.
■ Main risks and side effects
Redness, swelling, bruising, pain, nodules, needle marks, infection, allergic reactions, asymmetry, and uneven results at the injection site, etc.
Because Rejuran and VITARAN contain salmon-derived ingredients, those with salmon or seafood allergies may face an elevated risk and generally cannot receive these treatments. Should a serious allergic reaction (anaphylaxis) occur, discontinue use immediately and seek medical care.
■ Not suitable for
Those who are pregnant or breastfeeding; those with allergies to ingredients in each product (especially salmon / seafood allergy for Rejuran and VITARAN); those with infection or inflammation at the injection site; those with keloid-prone skin; those with autoimmune disease; those taking anticoagulants; minors; and others.
*All treatments are self-pay and not covered by Japanese national health insurance. *All listed prices are tax-included.
